ENVIRONMENT & STRESS QUESTIONNAIRES

Yes, please contact us via our e-mail address fragmentprojet@liser.lu and tell us what your problem is. If the problem cannot be solved easily, we can complete your questionnaire over the phone or invite you to join us at LISER to complete the questionnaire on one of our computers.

Our discussions with a group of Luxembourg residents have shown us that transport is often a major source of stress during the day. We are seeking to understand how certain modes of transport, depending on the places visited and the time of day, generate more or less stress.

We know that the people who accompany us in our daily activities change the way we feel stress and influence the way we perceive the environment around us. By informing us of your degree of familiarity with the people who accompany you, you help us to understand the circumstances of the moments experienced as stressful.

FragMent looks at how the places you visit and the activities you do impact on your stress. However, the quality of your sleep and your physical activity are also factors that influence your stress. So we need to know some aspects about your lifestyle to identify what is really linked to your environment.

FragMent seeks to understand how the places you visit every day affect your stress. The more places you refer, the more you help us to identify areas of stress in Luxembourg. The addresses of these places are cross-referenced with geographical data to understand their stressful (i.e. traffic, pollution, etc.) and relaxing (i.e. green spaces) characteristics.

Under no circumstances do we use these locations to identify a participant! All data is pseudonomised (a confidential reference code replaces your personal information) and is only analyzed for research purposes!

FRAGMENT MOBILE APPLICATION

The application only works on Android. However, the research team will provide you with a telephone for the duration of the survey, and a stamped envelope so that you can return it to us free of charge without having to travel.

No problem, we will lend you a phone for the duration of the survey!

Make an appointment with the research team by e-mail fragmentproject@liser.lu, you’ll receive a phone with the FragMent mobile application already installed, we’ll explain the survey to you and we’ll give you a pre-paid envelope to return the phone to us!

Contact us by e-mail fragmentproject@liser.lu and tell us the brand of your phone and your identification number (ID). We’ll do our best to solve the problem with you!

No. However, the survey only works thanks to your repeated answers to understand how your stress evolves over the course of the day (and week) depending on the places you visit and the activities you carry out. The more answers you give us, the more we’re able to understand these variations!

Did you know that the rhythm of your voice, its intonation, breathing, etc. are all stress markers! We break down the different signals in your voice to identify these stress markers. Your voice recordings are therefore invaluable to the research team. We’re counting on you!

We recommend that you place the phone facing you, about 20 cm from your mouth. Then simply press “Start recording” and perform the voice task according to the instructions displayed on your phone. Once the recording is complete, press “Stop recording”. Voice recordings must last more than 20 seconds to be considered valid.

You can listen to your recording again, delete it and start again. We recommend that you only make a new recording if there is a lot of noise around you or if you feel that the content of the recording is disturbing you.

Geographical location in itself is of little importance to us. However, we do use your geographical coordinates to determine what types of environments you are exposed to (for example, your proximity to a park, or whether you are in a traffic zone), the time spent in these environments, and your mode of transport. These are all factors that contribute to your stress levels.

Under no circumstances do we use GPS data to identify a participant! All data is pseudonomised (a confidential reference code replaces your personal information), and is only analyzed for research purposes!

No! The data is not stored on your phone. So if your phone is lost or stolen, nobody can access your confidential data.

The survey starts the day after you enter your login and password in the FragMent application. The survey lasts 15 days.

If you know that you won’t be able to take part in the smartphone survey in the next 15 days, wait until a more convenient time to log in to the application.

If you are going on holiday in the next fortnight, we would ask you to delay the start of the smartphone survey. Simply do not enter your login details in the FragMent application until you return to Luxembourg.

We will reset your password and send it to you by e-mail.

Send us an e-mail to fragmentproject@liser.lu

Simply log out of the application by re-entering your password on the “Log in” page and then clicking on “Log out of this phone”.
